Denis Glushakov: I’ll only leave Lokomotiv for a team of a much higher stature

Lokomotiv Moscow versatile midfielder Denis Glushakov in an interview to the club’s official website commented on the rumours of his possible departure to St. Petersburg.

«I guess any Russian player with any ambition would love to try their luck abroad, but it has to be a top team. My task at the moment is to become more consistent, do my best and keep growing as a player at Loko. If I do leave, it would only be for a team several levels above the Railwaymen.»

At the end of last month Zenit St. Petersburg reportedly made a bid to sign Glushakov, but the sides couldn’t settle on a transfer fee. Later the head of scouting at the Moscow club Kirill Kotov told Sports.ru that the Russia international is not for sale.
