CSKA Moscow cut ties with Ural after Shatov’s transfer deal row
CSKA Moscow executive director Roman Babayev confirmed that his club will no longer have any dealings with FC Ural, after the First Division side’s last minute change of plan over Oleg Shatov’s transfer.
The Russian Under-21 international was bound for Moscow, having spent two weeks training with the Red-Army and reaching a verbal agreement with CSKA’s management, but was intercepted by Anzhi and ended up in Makhachkala.
«Now our partnership with Ural has been terminated. Partners don’t go back on their promises, they don’t disappear in the middle of negotiations and don’t dodge phone calls. We are also recalling our two youth team players – Zabolotny and Nigmatullin – from a loan at Ural,» the CSKA boss told Sport-Express.
He also added that their club has been keeping silent on this subject, but after «certain statements of the player and Ural’s president in the press», CSKA wanted to clear the air.
«The situation is very banal: the club and the player both chose a deal on better financial terms. Ural received a fee almost three times higher than what we offered, the player – a much higher salary. Nine out of ten footballers would have probably done the same.»
