Anzhi’s Roberto Carlos dismisses reports of imminent retirement

Anzhi Makhachkala player-coach Roberto Carlos insists the reports of his retirement from football are completely untrue.

Earlier reports in the Spanish press alleged that the former Brazilian international had admitted he was ready to quit football and focus on his administrative duties at the Makhachkala club.

«People have come in asking me if I hung up my boots. Those stories are a lie. I have a contract with Anzhi that expires in June 2013. I will only make a decision about my future either next December, or when my contract ends,» wrote the Brazilian legend on his Twitter page.

The club’s official representatives have also dismissed the reports as false.
