Hodgson: WBA won’t make a move for Huszti this winter
West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson confirmed the club held talks with Zenit St. Petersburg about the potential signing of Hungarian midfielder Szabolcs Huszti, but eventually decided against completing the deal in the winter transfer window.
«We did express an interest in this player, but changed our mind after we spoke to him. He hasn’t featured in enough games this season, so it would take him a while to get back on form. We will reconsider signing him in the summer,» said the former Liverpool manager to Sky Sports.
Earlier the West Brom boss denied reports linking the club to the former Zenit striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, who is currently playing his football at the German outfit VfB Stuttgart.
