Lokomotiv once again keen on Lukas Podolski

Lokomotiv Moscow are interested in Cologne and Germany forward Lukas Podolski, Bobsoccer.ru reported with reference to Cologne newspaper Express.

According to the source, Olga Smorodskaya, the president of Lokomotiv, has sent a letter to the German side, offering them to begin negotiations over the forward’s move. It should be reminded that Podolski’s contract with Cologne will last for the next 18 months. This year the forward has made 16 appearances in Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals and making 5 assists.

However, Podolski’s agent Kon Schramm has indicated that his client is unlikely to leave the club in the nearest future.

«A move is unlikely. I think he’ll stay with the club at least till the end of the season. Then we plan to hold talks over a possible extension of the contract in summer,» Schramm said as quoted by Sovetsky Sport.
