Sibir appoint Scotsman Alex Miller as their new head coach

Sibir Novosibirsk have confirmed the appointment of Alex Miller, 62, as their new head coach, the club’s official website reports.

Miller spent nine years of his coaching career as an assistant manager at Liverpool under Gerard Houllier and Rafa Benitez. Before joining Sibir, the Scotsman had been working as a head coach of Swedish side AIK.

Sibir are currently 5th in the Russian First Division, which is the second tier of Russian professional football, hoping to reach promotion to the Russian Premier League.
