Gremio president: Carlos Eduardo is unlikely to join our club
Gremio president Paulo Odone has shed some light on talks with Rubin Kazan on Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo.
«The proposed Carlos Eduardo’s move to Gremio is getting more unlikely. I seriously doubt that the transfer will go through. Sure, it’s a blow but Carlos is unlikely to join our club,» Odone said as quoted by Globo Esporte.
Earlier it had been reported that the midfielder intended to sign a one-year extension with Rubin in order to be loaned to Gremio. Paulo Pelaipe, Gremio sporting director, said that Rubin would have decided Eduardo’s future before the New Year. Jorge Machado, the agent of the player, told he was trying to persuade the Rubin board that a loan to Gremio would be the best place for Carlos Eduardo’s recovery.
