Hristo Stoichkov leaves FC Rostov
Former Bulgarian star Hristo Stoichkov who has been serving as advisor to the president of FC Rostov leaves his post.
«The contract was suspended due to the fact that Rostov simply can’t afford to fulfill all Stoichkov’s ideas. He wanted to introduce the latest methods, this requires funds. Meanwhile, Rostov’s main task for today is to avoid relegation from the Premier League. Stoichkov doesn’t want to wait until the end of March, when it will be known if the club will remain in the elite,» Bulgarian agent Mircea Dimitrov stated to Sovetsky sport.
However, general director of Rostov Yury Belous gave other reasoning of Stoichkov’s resignation. «Stoichkov’s contract expired on December 1 and we decided not to renew it. Why? We had a problem communicating and collaborating remotely, as Hristo was abroad for most of the time,» Belous said to Sport-Express.
Stoichkov was appointed advisor last July.
