Beaten-up Gogniev suspended for six games, Terek fined €12,500
Russian FA’s Disciplinary Committee announced its decision on the incident in Grozny, where a massive fight erupted during the match between the youth teams of Terek Grozny and FC Krasnodar. Also, Krasnodar player Spartak Gogniev, who insulted and pushed the referee and got sent off for that, was later severely beaten inside the stadium by unknown persons. He was subsequently diagnosed with broken ribs and underwent a surgery, which would leave him sidelined for a month.
However, last week Gogniev apologized to Terek, refused to get any kind of criminal case going at the court, and said he won’t give any more comments to the media.
Now Gogniev was suspended for six games of the youth championship and fined 50,000 roubles (€1,250). Terek youth were fined 500,000 roubles (€12,500), and will spend the next two games in a neutral stadium, according to Sovetsky sport.
