Felipe Caicedo: Lokomotiv is where I wanted to continue my career

The new signing of Lokomotiv, Felipe Caicedo, has spoken about his transfer to the Moscow-based club.

«On Friday I will fly to Madrid and from there to Malaga. I will spend some days in Spain, pack my things and go to Russia.»

«The negotiations between Levante and Lokomotiv about your transfer have been dragging on for a quite long time. What did you feel when you have finally put you signature under the contract?»

«I felt happy. Lokomotiv was the place where I wanted to continue my career and I’m very happy that this transfer eventually happened. It will be very exciting for me to play in the Russian Premier League. The quality of your championship has grown a lot during the last years and now it ranges with the Europe’s top leagues.»

«Have you ever been to Russia before?»

«Yes, I’ve been here once. But on that trip I didn’t have a lot of time to get acquainted with the country, though I liked what I saw. In general I can’t wait to know Russia better – it’s a very big and interesting country.»

«What do you know about Lokomotiv?»

«I know that Lokomotiv are one of the leading clubs in Russia and have some very strong players in the squad. I’m also aware of the fact that the club has been established long ago and boasts of a rich history – that is also very important.»

«During your negotiations with Lokomotiv, did you seek advice from your teammate in the Ecuador national team Christian Noboa, who plays for Rubin Kazan?»

«Yes, I talked to him. He confirmed that the level of the Russian league is high. He also told me that Moscow is a huge megapolis, which also has Ecuadorians among other inhabitants, so I won’t miss my native land.»

«Will you arrive to Moscow alone or with someone?»

«I will come to Russia with my girlfriend», the player said in an interview with the club’s official website.
