Petrescu may leave Kuban and take charge of Lokomotiv Moscow

Head coach of Kuban Krasnodar Dan Petrescu may move to Lokomotiv Moscow. According to Prosport.ro, the Romanian coach may agree on the contract with the Red-and-Greens as soon as today.

According to the source, Lokomotiv are ready to provide Petrescu with €20 million for the acquisition of new players. In addition to that, the Railwaymen offer Petrescu a €20 million bonus for the victory in the Russian championship.

It should be noted that the amount of compensation provided by Petrescu’s current contract with Kuban, which allows him to terminate it unilaterally, makes around €400 thousand euro.

Earlier Lokomotiv president Olga Smorodskaya has stated that the club was in search of a new head coach, while Petrescu’s agent has confirmed the interest to his client from the Moscow-based club.

Petrescu took charge of Kuban in the end of 2009. Under him the Krasnodar club has won the Russian First Division and earned promotion to the Premier League. As of today, Kuban are 6th in the Premier League with 24 points.
