Spartak Nalchik sack head coach Vladimir Eshtrekov
Spartak Nalchik have announced the dismissal of their head coach Vladimir Eshtrekov.
According to the statement published on the club’s official website, today’s session of the club’s board found Eshtrekov’s performance in this position to be «unsatisfactory» and his contract was terminated with immediate effect.
The club from Kabardino-Balkaria failed to win any of its matches in the RPL this season except the first one and is currently last in the table with 9 points from 13 matches.
It has been suggested that Sergey Tashuyev will become Eshtrekov’s successor at the helm of the club. Tashuyev has been coaching FC Krasnodar, eventually winning promotion to the Premier League with them last season. He is thought to have been the alternative option to Eshtrekov during the pre-season period, when Spartak was looking for a replacement for Yuri Krasnozhan, who had joined Lokomotiv Moscow.
This dismissal became the sixth one in this season’s three months, save for the resignation of Valery Karpin who continued to work with Spartak Moscow. Before Eshtrekov this season saw the resignations of Miodrag Bozovic (Dynamo Moscow), Oleg Protasov (Rostov), Yuri Krasnozhan (Lokomotiv), Ruud Gullit (Terek) and Omari Tetradze (his official resignation from Volga may be announced tomorrow).
