Report: Lokomotiv Moscow will dismiss head coach Yuri Krasnozhan
According to some reports, Lokomotiv president Olga Smorodskaya has made a decision to dismiss the club’s head coach Yuri Krasnozhan.
The reason for that are the mistakes Krasnozhan had committed – deliberately, in Smorodskaya’s opinion – in training, starting line-up choice, and subsitutions during the home game of the Russian Preamier League Matchday 11 against Anzhi Makhachkala, lost 1:2 by the Moscow-based club.
According to Sport-Express, the president has already disclosed her intention to fire Krasnozhan in conversations with a number of players and informed about it the members of the board.
In case the dismissal takes place, assistant coach Vladimir Maminov will become interim head coach until summer break in the tournament. Krasnozhan then may well take charge of another RPL club, Rostov.
Yuri Krasnozhan was appointed head coach of Lokomotiv ahead of this season, in December 2010, after seven seasons at the helm of Spartak Nalchik. Under him the latter club managed to earn promotion to the top division and avoid relegation despite a modest budget on a regular basis.
