Dmitry Yaroshenko: Fortunately, Pichler is not the men’s team coach

Russian biathlete Dmitry Yaroshenko admitted he wouldnэt like to see Russia’s women’s coach Wolfgang Pichler in charge of the men’s team.

«Did you have the chance to talk to Wolfgang Pichler, the new coach of the women’s team?»

«No, never. How did I react to his appointment? Neutrally. If people believe he is the one who can take the team to victories, it’s great. However, if he was the coach of the men’s team, it would have been more complicated.

«I remember what he said about the Russians on doping. I don’t know how he would behave in this situation: would he support my call-up to the team or not. But, fortunately, he is the women’s team coach, and, at the end of the day, it has nothing to do with me,» Yaroshenko said in an interview with Sport-Express.
