CSKA coach Jonas Kazlauskas: I am happy with the team’s reaction to defeat in Turkey

CSKA Moscow head coach Jonas Kazlauskas praised his team for reacting well to the Euroleague defeat against Galatasaray by beating Lokomotiv-Kuban from Krasnodar (87:70). The Lithuanian specialist, speaking to the club’s official website, did however criticise the reserves for their poor performance.

«It was a two-part game. In the first part, we led with a huge goal difference, so we decided to let the reserve players have a go. But they didn’t do very well. The lads lacked confidence, missed a lot and didn’t move around enough in the offence. So the second half was less spectacular, rather nerve-racking.»

«I told my team after the game: in such a big club as ours the players coming off the bench should infuse the team with energy, not to worry about their individual stats. But the way it turned out was that the starting line-up played aggressively, while the subs failed to pressurise the opponent. Still, I admit that I am happy with the team’s reaction to last week’s defeat,» said the former Greece head coach.
