David Blatt: Slovenians have been hitting Kirilenko throughout the game

After the victory over Slovenia (65:64) in the 5th round match of the preliminary stage of the EuroBasket 2011 Russia’s Andrey Kirilenko was taken to hospital.

Russia head coach David Blatt also noted the tough approach of the opponents to his team’s leader.

«Andrey has a severe cut on his forehead. He may need sutures. He returned into the game and helped us win. The opponents hit Kirilenko have been hitting Kirilenko throughout the match,» Blatt said as quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to Oleg Ushakov, Russian team’s general manager, Kirilenko’s hospital examination revealed no brain concussion.
