Hankook Tire Honored as Official Tire for the 2014 WRC!

Hankook Tire announced on January 24 that its tire was named as an official tire for the 2014 World Rally Championship, one of the world’s three largest motor sports events, wrote The Korea Economic Daily. The WRC is recognized as one of the world’s three largest and most challenging motor sports events, together with Formula 1 and the NASCAR.
Hankook Tire added that its tire was honored as an official tire of the 2014 WRC, first among Korean-made tires. Hankook Tire has exclusively supplied its rally tires for the 2013 JWRC (Junior World Rally Championship), a gateway to join the WRC, last year.
This year marks the 42nd anniversary for the WRC that has been organized by the International Automobile Federation. The 2014 WRC is a rallying series that will be held in 15 countries during the period from January to November.

Since 2009, the Hankook Team Farnbacher has competed in the GT class of the Le Mans Series and also supplied tires for the Hankook KTR team that races in the Super GT and the Asian Le Mans Series.
In rallying, Hankook are the series sponsors of the Scottish Rally Championship.Their tires have been used at the European-based Intercontinental Rally Challenge as well.
