Sometimes Big Bosses Try to Race...
Formula One is not a stranger to high-profile people and VIPs in Korea. Over past weekend racing culture in Korea has gained unexpected support from Korea Tourism and F1 bosses with backup by diplomatic corps & foreign press stationed in Seoul.
On Sept, 7 F1 track in Yeongam witnessed something unusual - members of VIP delegation tried to drive karts at F1 track in Yeongam, one month ahead of upcoming F1 Korean GP and seemed to love it a lot. Having limited max speed of 40 km/hr karts driven by most guests for the first time made several circles at karting track which is separated from main F1 circuit but located within KIC area.
Even if you are not decicated F1 or racing fan this experience is something you'd be glad to try at least once or may be more. We tried it too and felt incredibly happy at finish, having left behind several Chinese and European teams! There are single and double-seated machines at karting course and they have only two pedals - acceleration and breaks. So, you can do it without even having any previous driving experience. Driving a kart is much easier than expected: take a seat in a kart, put a helmet, push acceleration pedal, and - go!
Everyone interested can participate in karting experience before or after F1. We'd definitely come back here and do it more as we loved it, really!

Mr Lee Charm is trying to drive kart - first step in becoming car racing driver. Who knows, may be some day he'd love to participate in one of real racing championships currently held in Korea: CJ Superrace, Korea Speed Festival and other.
Mr Lee Gae Ho, new Secretary General of F1 KOrean GP organizing committee also tried karting. Needles to say that with such a high-level backup Formula 1 should be getting more and more popular in Korea!
