Nick Heidfeld: Petrov shouldn’t drive the way he did, it was not safe for both of us

Lotus Renault pilot Nick Heidfeld remained disappointed by his teammate Vitaly Petrov’s actions at today’s Turkish GP after the two came close to a collision.

As Petrov and Heidfeld battled for position, their cars touched after going side-by-side in the series of corners preceding the start-and-finish straight. The German was seen making hand gestures to Petrov after the move.

«Yeah, that’s not nice. It shouldn’t happen. He just pushed me wide and we made contact. It’s not a safe thing to do,» said Heidfeld to the BBC as quoted by Autosport.

In the end Heidfeld finished in 7th position, while Petrov came 8th.
