Vitaly Petrov: In Malaysian GP we will show the progress we’ve made since last year
Russian F1 driver Vitaly Petrov, who failed to finish last week’s Australian GP, insisted Caterham will demonstrate the progress it has achieved over last year, but for that it has to utilize the full potential of the car.
«We’ll be able to show the local fans what progress we’ve made since last season. During qualification we must use the car’s potential more fully than we managed in Australia and avoid unpleasantness on the track like in Melbourne,» the driver told his official website.
In Malaysia, Caterham plan to fit the cars with the KERS, a system that recovers energy generated under breaking and throws it back into acceleration, for the first time this season.
«Despite the result, we worked brilliantly with the car, we know what we still need to work on, and this gives us extra motivation for Sepang,» Petrov said.
