Manager: Vitaly Petrov has a deal with an F1 team, all we need is a sponsor

Oksana Kosachenko, the manager of Russian driver Vitaly Petrov, claims her client has already signed a contract with one of the Formula 1 teams and his participation in next season’s races now depends on agreeing a sponsorship deal.

«We have agreed terms of contract with a racing team, so it is all up to the sponsors’ decision. The time is running out, so we need an answer as soon as possible. If we get the go ahead, he will be the leading driver in the forthcoming season. A lot of money has been invested into our project over the last two years, so we are really hoping for a positive outcome,» the Russian told F1 News.

According to the magazine, the former Lotus Renault driver is almost certain to take part in the racing next year in some capacity.
