Vladimir Romanov: I want to buy a theater and sell Hearts

Vladimir Romanov, the Russian owner of Hearts of Midlothian, said he wants to give up on his football projects.

«I am a poor man, cause I invest everything in sports. Why sports? Because during the Soviet era culture and sport weren’t divided and there was nothing higher than that. The nation exists as long as it as culture and sport.

«I really enjoyed at the Mariinsky Theater last night. I could watch The Queen of Spades opera an infinite number of times. When I am at a theater the idea to buy one for myself always comes to my mind.

«I’d like to buy a theater and sell some of the sports clubs. For example, football club Hearts is controlled by Murdoch’s media mafia. I used to fight them, told everyone they were mafia. Now everyone agrees with me. Now I gave an orderto to find a buyer for all my football clubs, I want to leave football completely.

«Hearts are kind of a subsidiary club for me, where I’ve been selling Lithuanian players until Lithuanian football hasn’t died out completely. Now it is time when Scottish football is dying out», Romanov said as quoted by RIA Novosti.
