Jonathan Legear: Terek turned out to be the only club to pay for my transfer
Terek Grozny midfielder Jonathan Legear spoke about joining his new club.
«I really had a good chance to join Dynamo, but it didn’t work out because Anderlecht demanded too much for my transfer. As for Zenit, I drew their attention after the matches in the UEFA Europa League where the St. Petersburg club, unfortunately, defeated us convincingly. So, Terek turned out to be the only club who agreed to pay the required sum for me.
«It’s a pleasure for me to be here. I like the city, the stadium, the fans. It’s comfortable to play in such conditions. My teammates met me really warmly. From the very first days of my stay here we became friends with Zengue, Essame, and Mguni who speak French. I also made friends with the Brazilians. So, I don’t feel lonely.
«Of course, the Russian Premier League is very strong. I realized that a long time ago, when Anderlecht played against Zenit. The St. Petersburg team played very aggressively in these matches, they didn’t stop even for a minute. So, the level of Russian championship must be higher.
«Many people dissuaded me from making this decision. They said: «Why would you need this?» But I’m the kind of person who can get used to everything. Pyatigorsk and Kislovodsk, where the team is located, seem pretty nice to me. I find these cities to resemble the European ones in some way. Sure, there are also some disadvantages, but, in general, there is everything I need here,» the player said as quoted by Sport-Express.
